FRENCH LICK, Ind. – The Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade will host the first annual Festival of Marching Bands this Saturday at the Springs Valley High School football field beginning at 8:00pm.
Along with a performance by Springs Valley, the Pride of Paoli, Orleans Bulldog Regiment, and Northeast Dubois Marching Jeeps will be performing at the event. All participating bands as well as directors are all excited about this one-of-a-kind event.
The show is scheduled to kick off at 7:00pm when each band will perform a stand-still of their show. At 8:00pm, each band will begin performing their show on the main field for the fans, starting with Northeast Dubois. Following the Jeeps will be Paoli at 8:20pm, Orleans at 8:40pm, and Springs Valley will be the finale, performing at 9:00pm. All four bands will participate in a pizza party following the show.
The Festival of Marching Band is a unique show in that there will be no judges in attendance. The festival format is set for bands to perform without the pressure of being judged and getting a score. It also allows all four area bands to perform close to home before heading out on the road in mid September.
There will be no admission to the Festival of Marching Bands and the Springs Valley Band Booster will be providing concessions. Fans are encouraged to come out and support all four local bands. All four shows will be made available as well as photos for purchase on Blackhawk Brigade.com.
Performance Schedule:
7:00pm – Stand Still Performances
8:00pm – Northeast Dubois Marching Jeeps
8:20pm – Pride of Paoli
8:40pm – Orleans Bulldog Regiment
9:00pm – Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade
