Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade Freshman Flute
FRENCH LICK, Ind. - The flute section this season consists of Erica L., Kyra M., Rachael W., Stephanie B., and Keesha M.. Our flute rookie this year is Keesha and she’s been a wonderful asset to the section. She has become quite the marcher over these few months and has added another smile to the bunch.
As a flute, we are doomed to being almost silent. However, we have worked hard this year and have received numerous comments about actually being heard. Way to go guys, keep up the good work! We’ve worked hard this season and I think it would be a definite waste of energy to not try our hardest this coming week. Focus, play hard, and keep those elbows up.
As the season rapidly approaches the end, I think it would be appropriate to recognize how many years the current flutes have left in the Brigade. Next year will be Erica’s senior year and her last year in band. I, myself, have three years left, and Rachael, Stephanie, and Keesha all have their four high school years left in band. These coming years are not something to be wasted and we all are looking forward to the coming season(s).
I would like to end this on a positive note by saying that this season has by far been the best. I have really enjoyed spending endless hours on end with the flute section as well as the rest of the band. I appreciate the respect that Erica and I have received for trying to lead the section to the best of our ability. The attitude has become more positive this year and that has made all the difference in our presence. Remember, we may be silent, but we are deadly. I wish you all the best of luck
