Brigade receives approval for first Springs Valley Festival of Marching Band

FRENCH LICK, Ind. – Springs Valley High School marching band Director Luke Aylsworth received approval to host the first marching band festival at Springs Valley on Sepember 6 at the football stadium.
The festival, titled the "Springs Valley Festival of Marching Bands," will be a chance for local bands to come togeather and practice, perform and form some friendships with one another. There will be no judges at this festival. Groups will perform on a neutral field with no pressure attached to the show or their preformance as well has have a chance for other directors to give feedback to their shows.
The Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade and Pride of Paoli has both been gathering for for a number of years. The groups practices, performed for one another, and then had a pizza party. Pride of Paoli Director Bill Laughlin influencial in getting the Valley/Paoli group outing togeather a few years ago. Now, Ayslworth hopes it will blossom into a great event.
The event will be held in the evening and will be open to the public. Community members from all around will be invited to join the Brigade and local groups in the first annual festival. Concessions will be available and fans are invited to come out and enjoy an eventing of marching band. More details on the show will be made available later.
